Topic: Immigration 101 – How it affects our Community
Guest Speaker: Mindy Rush Chipman, Rural Capacity Building Attorney,
Justice For Our Neighbors–Nebraska – As Rural Managing Attorney, Mindy works to promote inclusion state-wide by offering immigration education and advocacy, as well as low-income immigration legal services. Previously, Mindy worked as an attorney at Legal Aid of Nebraska, where she helped develop the Nebraska Immigration Legal Assistance Hotline (NILAH), and earlier had her own general law practice primarily practicing in rural communities.
Note: this issue is presently being argued in the Supreme Court. The President’s Executive order (DACA, DAPA) is being challenged by several states.

Survived by mother, Aura Whitney-Jackson (Andrew) of Omaha; sister, Karen Ryan (Dan) of Omaha; daughter, Christina Powers (Robert); grandchildren, Cayden and Gavin Powers; many other relatives. VISITATION begins Tuesday, 9-10:30am at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, followed by MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at 10:30-11:30am at the church with lunch following
