Hi Latinas, Hope this email finds you all healthy and in great spirits.
Looking forward to seeing you this Thursday. Beth asked me to inform you all of a few changes in our agenda. The Emotional Intelligence workshop will be rescheduled, largely for lack of enough response. We’ll have it on a Saturday this fall, when more people can hopefully carve out more of the necessary time.
However, we still will hold our LU meeting this Thursday at same place, Ameristar, at 6 p.m. in the sports bar just past the lobby. We will talk about organizational business, including our committee tasks. This can be the type of networking and social gathering many of us want to preserve in the LU format.
Also, please save your Sept. 26 evening for the September LU monthly gathering.
We will be meeting at El Museo Latino and treated to a tour of the museum and talk presented by director and friend, Maggie. More details to come on Latinas Unidas Facebook page and later email.
Hear Ye Hear Ye, Latinas Unidas: Learn how to listen more effectively, attentively and without judgment. (It gets you farther at work and in life!)

* Review your EQ Assessment results, along with the TalentSmart website.

Please attend and learn to become more aware of your listening patterns and how this can improve your performance at work and elsewhere. This is a two-hour workshop. For more information call Beth (599.0495) or Cindy (630.4555) or Lori (331.2031).
Join us for an afternoon of fun, live music and camaraderie at the American GI Forum. This outdoor picnic event at the forum’s pavilion is a partnership between the Forum and Latinas Unidas, intended to raise money for the American GI Forum Scholarship Fund. Latinas will be sponsoring a $500 scholarship through this fund, to be awarded to a young Latina during the Forum’s annual scholarship banquet later this year. Latinas Unidas will set up a table at the picnic to promote LU and to recruit members. A $5 minimum donation is requested to support the educational scholarships. Bring family, a picnic dish and chair or blanket. See you there! Sincerely,
